Forum Heritage Services Ltd. is a consultancy which provides a strong combination of historic environment based skills. The consultancy was set up in 2002 as a Partnership, becoming a Limited Company in 2007 and specialises in the management of change to historic buildings and places and characterisation-based work with a core emphasis on the morphology and archaeology of places and buildings and how this contributes to present day character and sense of place.
Forum Heritage Services Ltd has a broad range of clients ranging from private individuals and companies to local authorities, Historic England, the National Trust and the Natural England.

Bob Edwards has 25 years experience of historic environment related work. Bob began his career in field archaeology, working in Canterbury and Cambridgeshire. He worked as a Researcher at Bournemouth University, undertaking an assessment of the archaeological potential of rural settlements in Hampshire before becoming Historic Towns Officer, undertaking an Extensive Urban Survey of medieval towns in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight for Hampshire County Council. Bob later worked as a Principal Conservation Officer at Hampshire County Council and founded Forum Heritage Services in 2002. He has served as a member of the Winchester Diocesan Advisory Committee and was a committee member of the Historic Farm Buildings Group.

Conservation specialist, planner and urban designer. James has over 24 years experience working in the historic environment, initially with local authorities including two London boroughs; Westminster and Lewisham, and Hampshire County Council where responsibilities included development control, policy development, the management of large grant aided conservation, repair and survey projects including thatching, specialist cob and timber frame repairs. His specialisms include character appraisals of conservation areas and historic buildings. His involvement with professional bodies includes being a former trustee of the Industrial Buildings Preservation Trust; Chairman of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation South; Treasurer/Secretary of the Technical Panel of the IHBC; a former member of the South East Regional Design Panel; Chairman of the Dorset Conservation & Design Officers Group; and is currently the Dorset representative for the IHBC South West Branch and Panel member of the Cornwall Design Review Panel. James is co-author of Characterising Neighbourhoods (2017) a guide to exploring local assets of community significance.
